Criminal Report 06-04-07
Friday night
6th of April 2007
Local Police Station, Rønde, Mols
20:53 Pirates are seen disembarking in Kalø Vig, roaming and shouting “landlubbers”. They used what several locals described as “strange voices and unknown dialects”. When the police arrived, everything had calmed down.
21:17 Peder from the vicarage reported that his hammer and two newly bought boxes of nails were stolen from his garage. The police will take action on this crime later since we are low on resources due to the Easter holidays.
21:23 A neighbour of The European Folk Highschool reported what he saw as “suspicious people on the highschools area, running around with spears claiming to stick magic rings”. To him it looked threatening.
22:07 Local woman from Rønde with dog saw mysterious smoke while she was taking a walk along the main road. She decided to take a further look, saw a heavy fire and called the police. We appreciate her quick and brave reaction that prevented the fire that could have spread to local farms and barns.
23:00 Pirate called 911(112) numerous times claiming that he can’t reach his wife and six children, since they are locked into a red official Danish mail box.
23:30 Reports on corrupted competition at a private party at the European folk high school.
05:00 Local farmer was sexually molested by, what he described as, a ”drunken gay pirate, probably schizophrenic”.

On a farm somewhere in Denmark
Once upon a time there were lovely ducks from all over the world who decided to meet at this wonderful farm at Kalø. They didn´t know eachother at first, but after a while they were getting to know each other more and more.
One day they were gathering in a big hall and were selected in small groups. In their small groups they had to sit around a table. And then.. suddenly… they all got strange stickers on their fore-duckhead. And the duck who had always been their leather, was suddenly ignored. The shy one was now suddenly always right and he felt so supported by that. Everyone was suddenly abiding his ideas.
The ducks were also all confused. They thought: why all of a sudden this is happening?
They tried to remove the stickers, but first they were stucked.
All of a sudden the stickers were falling off and they realized that they were normal again! Great!
And the ducks flew away into the sky, embrazing each other…..

A Roller Skate Ride of Learning or Waste of Sunshiny Spring Time?
The Leadership Seminar has been packed with intense, exciting and funny workshops, but is it exactly the place you wanted to spend your whole easter?
Maybe you would have liked to collect of couple of books from the huge stack next to your desk and walk out in the sunshiny spring-time to re-charge the batteries. Or maybe you left your boy or girlfriend, that you never get to see, behind and home alone for four valuable days, that will never come back.
I have done both and I have laid down a couple of other great plans to be here, and I must admit this personally focused learning-by-doing on energized coke is challenging my academic perspective on learning, but that’s the point of being here.
This is exactly the place I want to spend my easter – playing and learning with all of you cool people.
The Seminar has opened new horizons and been an extremely valuable opportunity of reflecting personal experiences with leadership. Thanks, so far, to the planning team – I’m impressed by your huge dedication to deepening your own and the participants’ practical knowledge of leadership.
Thanks to all of you, Jan
Make love not war!
I like the idea of the seminar to let us get know about leading by practising ourselves. Before this seminar i was a lot afraid that i'm too shy to stand in front of the people, i thought that role of leader will never suit to me. Now i feel to be more prepared for dealing with people and much more capable to cope with challenges. I have also found out in what I'm pretty good and i'm a lot proud of myself. At the same time i'm aware of weakness but it's a challenge for future to improve it:-)
All the facilitator especially Per and Sanne, 77 participant, everytime smiling food providing personal make me feel like on a brilliant amusing hippie party 'just love not war', everybody is treateing the others with love, respect and tolerance. I'm afraid to return into a serious life.
And what's the most important i'll miss Sanne very much. She's so warm and cheering person that i feel like having a fresh sunbath. It is pretty difficult to plan how to speak with her eye to eye and how to be closer to her. At the beginning i pretend to have an injury with my foot, so she was really taking care about me, she was hugging me, stroking me.... Now I'm a bit sad: today i used mascara and bright red lipstick to be more attractive for he but she didn't noticed it and rather had eye-contact with Henrik. I should have known that Sanne doesn't like red colour at all:-(
I love the smell of Napalm in the morning
This is now the 4th day of the seminar and the spirit is still extremely high among the facilitators and us participants.
I feel I am learning so much every day. I am surprised that there are so many aspects to the task of being a leader. Communication, motivation, group dynamic, conflict management etc., just to mentioning a few. But this does not scare me of, not at all. I have my horizon expanded and I feel very much motivated to become a work camp leader.
I had eye contact with Per 6 times today! That is a big improvement since yesterday when it was only 4 times. But I don’t know if he knows how I feel about him? When is the right time to tell him? I feel that I must express my deep and passionate feelings for Per soon, because this seminar is ending the day after tomorrow and then I most likely will never see him again. We live in each end of the country so he has to know soon! At the talent competition tonight I will drink a little beer first and then finally perform for Per the song that I have been writing on the last few days. Oh I am so exited to see his reaction!

My Danish Adventures!
Dear Blogdiary,
Normally I just tell you what happend during the day, but this time it is different. Since I am in Denmark at the ILTS everything has changed. My family group led by Sanne and Per. They are definetely the best faciliators. We learned so much about leading a workcamp and had so much fun together. I didn’t think, that it would be that great before I arrived here.
Per sang a song today concerning the world being purple and he was such a nice pirate. It is the same with Sanne, she makes you feel at home at once. Now I must admit something which you are never allowed to tell someone else ..I think,.. I think .. oh, it’s tough to tell .. I think, that I’ve fallen in love with Per. I am already scared to say goodbye on Monday, of course, that’s because of Per, but also because of all the other participants, who made my stay in Denmark unique.
I am not sure if my love to Per has a chance, but one thing is for sure: I will never forget these intensive days!

Groups...
Lao Tzu said "The well-run group is not a battlefield of egos" and yes, he is right! However, this is probably easier said than done. When many people, who consider themselves to be leaders, are to work together tempers can flame and territory might get pissed off. At times it can be a horrible feeling to work in groups and one might want to give up and walk away.
Oh, yeah - don't we all know the feeling!
But if each of us give our individual commitment then we can (despite what we might think) make the group work, and as C.S. Lewis so nicely put it, “…when the whole group is together, each bringing out all that is best, wisest, or funniest in all the others... Those are the golden sessions…" And they are worth it!
Borats impression of the seminar!
